Inspired Beginnings
For many years my passion for beautiful things had me yearning for a lovely old style bed (you know, the kind they just don’t make anymore). Sadly my 6 ft plus frame wouldn’t allow me to settle for an antique double bed complete with sagging wire springs.
Artistry Born Out Of Necessity
By chance I was offered a small parcel of Qld Silky Oak timber, reclaimed from an old Brisbane church during renovations. As is so often the case, one thing led to another and before long I was sleeping comfortably in a queen size bed that combined the level of comfort that I needed with the level of artistry I desired.
Timeless
The ‘Art Nouveau Tulip’ bed was realised and to my delight it combined my 2 great loves…beautiful furniture and fine cabinet timbers. Requests soon followed and inspired the creation of a range of fine timber furniture that was unique and functional.
That was some 25 years ago and age has added a lovely patina to my bed and confirms my belief that beautiful things made with care and attention to detail really do get better with time, often reminding me of the old church building.
